Hi!
I haven’t posted anything in a while and I had a marking day today for some garments I had to make; they’re kinda appropriate so I thought maybe you guys might like to see them.
The girls on either side of me modelled for me and I made what they were wearing. I didn’t make anything I’m wearing though.

( LOL )

i'm kind of known as the woman who wears dresses, but as of late i've been very interested in menswear and drag. i've performed in drag a few times, and find it incredibly empowering and fascinating. i really enjoy fashion as a space to challenge identities and stereotypes, to play with perceived gender norms, and sexualities, and i feel like drag is a great space for that. i guess this post is more focused on how menswear has really become normalized for women in the last 60 years or so, rather than on drag kings themselves, but i thought i'd share some photos with you guys.
( you draw on your moustache while i powder my nose! )
post your favourite pictures of drag, or menswear on ladies, or ladieswear on men!

I can't decide whether to put this beneath a cut or not. Oh well.
1. Do you believe you fit into one 'category' or 'genre' in society? (e.g. goth, emo, scene, raver, preppy, cybergoth, etc.)
Even though I don't consciously think about it, I probably do. I think it's habitual for people to label things and, for better or worse, that seems to also apply to labeling people. Honestly, as long as you aren't consciously trying to maintain a specific label (to the point of denying yourself things you like and so on), I don't have a big problem with labels.
2. If somebody was to paint a picture to represent you WITHOUT actually including you in the picture, what FIVE things would have to be included in the painting? Why?
- Art supplies, being the crazy art chick I am.
- A carnival. I absolutely love carnivals and how ridiculously tacky and creepy they can be. I like how initially (like... when you're five) they seem magical, but then you grow up and see it's kinda crappy. Also, I like trying to beat the rigged games. I've figured out how to beat the balloon one, so I end up winning every time. XD
- A hyena. Those guys are fucking awesome. I'd have one as a pet if I could (I guess some people in Africa actually do).
-Animal print. I have quite a few clothes in leopard print and I tend to habitually doodle it when I'm bored. I can't help it. I like animal print more than I do floral print.
-Pyramid Head. Because I can.
3. Looking back over your life so far, are there any major things you would have done differently if you had the chance, keeping in mind it would affect where you are in life now?
I would have never joined the military. Worse decision ever. And I've done a lot of stupid stuff.
4. What is one item of clothing or footwear in your wardrobe that you can't ever throw out?
My white tiger print coat. I keep planning on DIYing it into something a little less destroyed.
5. What's one thing you do that you know is bad (for you or for whoever else) but you do it anyway?
I would have said smoking, but I haven't had a cigarette in a long time. I suppose drinking. :/

I've had virtually the exact same hairstyle for roughly 12 years. No bangs/fringe, just long and pretty basic (although I've had it chin & shoulder length about half a dozen times in the last 6 years, it now reaches the small of my back).
I decided about 4 months ago I wanted a change--a major one--but haven't had the guts to go through with it.
After searching endlessly for a hairstyle/cut I wanted, I found an (Asian) celebrity with pretty consistently awesome hair, and was wondering if anyone could photoshop (quick photoshop, I'm not asking for a miracle) my hair to look like hers? Pictures under cut of both myself and Rainie Yang, but I don't have any picture of me that are face-on, they're all stupidly-angled, covering half my face, or...the upper part of my hair is chopped out.
I can probably take a different/better picture if necessary.
Also--do you guys thing the style would suit me?
( Thank you!!! )

1. Do you believe you fit into one 'category' or 'genre' in society? (e.g. goth, emo, scene, raver, preppy, cybergoth, etc.) Not at all. I'm one thing one day and another the next, and sometimes lots of things combined. I dress for a concept, not an already-existing style. I like to go with whatever I'm in the mood for when I get up in the morning and take it from there.
2. If somebody was to paint a picture to represent you WITHOUT actually including you in the picture, what FIVE things would have to be included in the painting? Why? Wow...I'm sure it would have to have roses in it (I love flowers and delicate things, and things with pretty scents), and cats (I've always had an affinity for cats, and have had two of them in my lifetime who were very close to me and really amazing)...dolls (I have collected dolls off and on, I think they're beautiful -- especially porcelain ones -- and I've been told sometimes that I look like one), butterflies (I love imagery of butterflies and faeries and other ethereal beings, and Nature in general), and...teacups (because I like teacups, tea parties, old dresses, and quaint traditions). And it would use lots of pastel shades, especially pink.
3. Looking back over your life so far, are there any major things you would have done differently if you had the chance, keeping in mind it would affect where you are in life now? I had two really bad relationships that drastically changed my life in ways I'm not happy with, and I have bad memories and a lot of setbacks because of them. I would not have been with either of them.
4. What is one item of clothing or footwear in your wardrobe that you can't ever throw out? Oh wow, lots! But if I were to pick one thing, I guess it would be any one of the vintage dresses I have...even though I know that's not really naming just one thing, I just can't choose. =P
5. What's one thing you do that you know is bad (for you or for whoever else) but you do it anyway? Well I quit smoking, or that would be it. I don't really have a lot of vices. Procrastination, I do have a problem with that.

EZ Prez, so far, sucks

posted by: necroangel666 in eyeshadowsluts
So, as per your guys' recommendations (and the recommendation of the allmighty Xsparkage), I ordered some EZ Prez from Coastalscents.com.
It came fast, and I was super stoked to press my Fyrinnae shadows - I have over 100 of them, and wanted an easier way to travel with them.
I've pressed shadows before, and know how to get it to the right consistancy - I pressed my shadows over 4 days ago and they are STILL NOT DRY. They weren't super wet to begin with when I pressed them - they were the correct consistancy. I can't get anything onto my brush, and the brush moves the semi-solid goo around in the pan. I managed to put some of one of my favorite colors on today, and within an hour, even with my UDPP, it creased like crazy.
I'm going to be very pissed off if I just ruined 15 of my favorite shadows. :(
Thoughts??
Edited to add: Well, since it seems the recommendations I got were bad, has anyone actually USED Fyrinnae's powder modifier?

Colored highlights

Hey.
So I am getting super bored with my hair and the color. This is the color it is now, its kind of a burgundy. It's naturally a dirty blond. I think I want purple and black highlights or chunks but I am not sure. I am thinking more of a violet on the reddish side, not like an indigo.
Suggestions would be super!

1. Do you believe you fit into one 'category' or 'genre' in society? (e.g. goth, emo, scene, raver, preppy, cybergoth, etc.)
GOD NO. I'm whatever I want to be. Some days I wear gothy stuff, some days it's raverlicious, and others it's something else. I hate to categorize myself.
2. If somebody was to paint a picture to represent you WITHOUT actually including you in the picture, what FIVE things would have to be included in the painting? Why?
A cat, because cats have been in my life since before I was born. I've never been without a cat.
A rainbow, which would represent my wild range of emotions.
A red ribbon, to represent my drug-free life.
A skeleton, to represent my love of the macabre.
AND last but not least, a book, to represent how much I love books.
3. Looking back over your life so far, are there any major things you would have done differently if you had the chance, keeping in mind it would affect where you are in life now?
Nope.
4. What is one item of clothing or footwear in your wardrobe that you can't ever throw out?
My fishy dress from when I was in kindergarten. I wore that dress all the time.
5. What's one thing you do that you know is bad (for you or for whoever else) but you do it anyway?
I guess I worry too much. What is worrying to me comes off as bitching to others.

A couple months ago I cut my hair short and now that it's growing out its getting pretty goofy looking, my problem is I have such thick hair and I don’t really know how to style it at different lengths and have it look good. So I was just wondering if people could post pictures of girls with real thick hair at any length. Thanks you guys ☺

Hello! My name is Angela and this is my first post here.
I'm going to color my hair Wednesday night and I am looking for some tips.
I would like to have white/light blonde hair with pink lowlights.
My only tools are Manic Panic's Flash Lightning Vol 40 bleach kit and Manic Panic's Cotton Candy Pink color. I have heard that Special Effects is a better brand, but I only have access to Manic Panic at the moment, and I sort of need to do my hair asap.
Here is my hair color now. (I know you can't see my hair that well, but it's the only recent picture I have). My hair has been dyed, but it is fading a bit and some of my natural color is coming through. My natural color is strawberry blonde.
I would like something like this (Picture from Google)
Is it possible to achieve the look I want with these tools? I have seen some bleached hair that has turned a dark blonde or almost orange-y, and I definitely do not want that. How do I avoid this?
If it is possible to achieve this look with what I have, how do I go about doing it? How long should I leave the bleach/color in my hair?
And basically any tips on bleaching and coloring my hair this way at all!
Also, my boyfriend has natural black/dark dark brown hair. How long should he leave the bleach in his hair for it to turn light blonde/white?
Thanks very much in advance. =]
